What to know about the Olde York Street Fair

York's Mother's Day tradition continues. Moms, strollers, friends and families will pack into downtown York for the 41st  Olde York Street Fair May 8. Festivities kick off at 12:30 p.m. and go until 6 p.m. If you're planning to go, here are few things to know:

Buy stuff: More than 100 arts and craft vendors will sell handmade items. Food will also be available. Fun fact: All food vendors donate a portion of their sales to area non-profit organizations.

Let the kids loose: Glatfelter's Kids Fun Block will include inflatables, games, face painting, and other activities for children. Entomologist Ryan Bridge (The Bug Man) will have his bug collection on display for kids to see and touch. Ticket sales for the inflatables in the Kids Fun Block will support York City Special Events. Those are $2 each, three for $5, or $10 for a wristband, which is good for the day.

Hear live music: Four stages near Continental Square will feature live entertainment, including Sweet Life, B-Tropical and Kayla Kroh Band. Also, be on the look-out for strolling entertainers, including Jerry Brown, (Monkey Man).

See a new dance show: At 4:30 p.m., see Dance Street Showcase Demo and Competition in the first block of North George Street, featuring Illstyle & Peace Productions and the Keystone Dance Project.
