An Evening with Kevin Hines

Spring Garden Township: Kevin Hines will reach audiences with his story of an unlikely survival and his strong will to live at 7 p.m. April 11 at The Pullo Center, 1031 Edgecomb Ave. Two years after he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, he attempted to take his life by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. He is the only Golden Gate Bridge jump survivor who is actively spreading the message of living mentally healthy around the globe. Admission is free. Visit pullocenter.york.psu.edu for details.

Best Kept Secrets Tour

Lancaster County: Travel place to place to enjoy refreshments, drawings, gifts, workshops, tastings and more during the Best Kept Secrets Tour from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 12 at more than 35 Lancaster County locations. Tickets are $9. The event runs through April 23. Your ticket is valid the entire time. Stories of the Susquehanna Lecture Series

Wrightsville: Explore the Captain John Smith Trail with National Park Service Staff from 6 to 9 p.m. April 13 at The Zimmerman Center for Heritage, 1706 Long Level Rd. Smith’s map and journals are a remarkable record of the 17th-century Chesapeake. Cost is $10 per person, registration required. Light refreshments provided. York Train Meet

West Manchester Township: Check out a three-day train show with something for everyone from noon to 6:30 p.m. April 14, and 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. April 15 and 16 at the York Expo Center, 334 Carlisle Ave. Shop for trains, accessories, clothing, books and videos. Toast from our Town

West Manchester Township: Raise funds for the WellSpan VNA Home Care program from 6 to 9 p.m. April 15 at the Wyndham Garden York, 2000 Loucks Rd. Toast from our Town will feature fifteen restaurants and caterers with specialty items, plus a draw down board with cash prizes. Tickets are $50 or $100 and are limited. 2016 York Heart Ball

Spring Garden Township: The American Heart Association will host the 2016 York Heart Ball from 6 to 11 p.m. April 16 at Country Club of York, 1400 Country Club Rd. Jewish Food Festival

York Township: Taste a variety of food, food, and more food during a cultural event from noon to 4 p.m. April 17 at the York Jewish Community Center, 2000 Hollywood Dr. The festival will include old fashioned corned beef sandwiches, beef brisket, knishes, kugel, and many more wonderful Jewish delicacies.
