5 York Fair acts to see: Salt-N-Pepa, Jeff Dunham

The York Fair is back this September with lots of fried food, farm animals and a whole new lineup of live entertainment.

Anyone else counting down the days?

This year's lineup includes some country, a little bit of comedy and even a night devoted entirely to '90s hip hop.

Here are the five main stage shows to see at the fair.

Chase Rice

Country singer Chase Rice will kick things off on Saturday, Sept. 10.

Rice, known for co-writing the Florida Georgia Line single “Cruise,” released his latest album “Ignite The Night” in 2014. The album includes the single “Ready Set Roll.”

“Survivor” fans might also remember him as the runner-up on “Survivor: Nicaragua” in 2010.

Country band Parmalee will open the show at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets range from $20-$35.

I Love the 90’s Tour

On Wednesday, Sept. 14, the York Fair will take a break from country music for a show ‘90s kids won’t want to miss.

The top superstars of the decade – including Salt-N-Pepa, Vanilla Ice, Coolio, Tone Loc, Young MC and Color Me Badd – will bust a move on the grandstand stage starting at 7 p.m.

Expect to hear all your favorites from “Ice Ice Baby” to “Gangsta's Paradise.”

Tickets range from $34-$49.

Tyler Farr

Country music returns to the grandstand stage on Thursday, Sept. 15 with Tyler Farr.

The “Redneck Crazy” singer will hit the stage at 7:30 p.m. to perform hits like “Whiskey in My Water” and “Better in Boots.”

His latest No. 1 song is “A Guy Walks into a Bar.”

All tickets are $15.

Jeff Dunham

Ventriloquist and comedian Jeff Dunham has performed on Comedy Central, “The Late Show with David Letterman” and “The Tonight Show.” And on Friday, Sept. 16, he’ll add the York Fair to that list.

At 7:30 p.m., he’ll introduce fair-goers to his colorful characters, like Achmed the Dead Terrorist, Walter the Grumpy Retiree, Bubba J and Peanut.

Tickets range from $39-$54.

Alabama

With a record 23 York Fair performances under their belt since 1981, Alabama has become a staple of the fair.

The Southern rock and bluegrass band will return to the grandstand stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17.

Some of the band’s most popular hits include “Tennessee River,” “If You’re Gonna Play in Texas” and “Angels Among Us.”

Tickets range from $39-$54.
