Welcome to the weekend, York!

It's going to be a busy one – possibly one of the busiest of the summer.

With multiple festivals, food trucks, vendors and live music taking over the city, you certainly won't be bored. So, come downtown for a day and take in all the fun.

Here are five weekend events you won't want to miss in York.

Go to an arts and music festival

If you’re looking for a weekend full of art, food, music and fun, downtown York is the place to go. Close to 100 fine artists from across the country are taking over the city for Yorkfest on Saturday and Sunday. Plus, there will be art cars, chalk masterpieces, a boat parade, live music, poetry, face painting and more children’s activities from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

While you’re there, take a walk over the Codorus Creek Bridge for more live music, food trucks and vendors at the Cigar Box Guitar Festival at The York Emporium on Saturday.

Saturday night, stick around downtown for live music, children’s activities and floating fire pits at Creekfire on the Codorus Creek from 7-10 p.m.

Over 21? Hang out at DreamWrights’ first open mic

Starting this Friday, the 21+ crowd will have a new place to hang out in York. DreamWrights Center for Community Arts is expanding its programming to reach young adults, and they’re kicking things off with their first-ever open mic night from 8-11 p.m. Friday. Tutoni’s will provide a cash bar, and York City Pretzel Company will provide the food.

Tickets are $5 at the door.

Fight zombies at Zombie Apocalypse Live

Get a jump-start on Halloween when Zombie Apocalypse Live comes to Halloween Park in Newberry Township this weekend. It’s a tactical, live action game that immerses you in a world infested with dozens of zombies. Think zombies + laser tag. You’ll be given a replica M4 rifle, and you must work with teammates to clear areas infested with zombies. The only way out is to shoot your way to safety.

The attraction will be open from 7-11:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
