Drive-in movies, family festivals, free wine tastings and pumpkin funnel cake – it's going to be a great weekend in York.

Here are six fun events in the area you won't want to miss.

Bring the kids to York Family Festival

Pony rides, live music, bounce houses and a petting zoo make Central Penn Parent’s Family Festival the place to be for kids this weekend. The festival will also have a storytime corner, costume parade, a picnic lunch and more children’s activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Cousler Park.

The best part? It’s free.

See a drive-in movie

Pack up the family and spend a night at the drive-in! The Pullo Center will show summer blockbusters “Finding Dory” and “Captain America: Civil War” for free at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Go to the York Fair

This weekend is your last chance until next year to pig out on pumpkin funnel cake, pet and feed stingrays and watch ducklings slide down a water slide at the York Fair. Trust me. It’s as adorable as it sounds.

Ventriloquist and comedian Jeff Dunham will hit the Grandstand stage on Friday, and York Fair favorite Alabama will perform on Saturday. Both shows start at 7:30 p.m.

And on Sunday, a free demolition derby will conclude this year’s fair with a bang at 4 p.m.

Celebrate at New Freedom Festival

The 12th annual festival will bring together musicians, artists and more to celebrate the small town of New Freedom. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, you’ll find lots of free activities, like live music, arts and craft vendors, games, food, a pet parade and more.

Festivities will be held on Front, Main and Penn streets in New Freedom.

Cheers to Oktoberfest!

If you haven’t gotten your ticket yet for Saturday’s Oktoberfest celebration in Cherry Lane Park, you're out of luck. It’s sold out. But the good news is you can still get your hands on local beer and German-style dishes at York’s first-ever Oktoberfest Week.

Beginning Sunday, head downtown to try Oktoberfest Week exclusives, like pork schnitzel, bratwurst and cheesy potato beer soup, from participating York city restaurants.

Here’s a list of Oktoberfest specials to look forward to.

Raise a glass at Hummingbird Ridge Winery

So, first – the bad news. Hummingbird Ridge Winery is closing. But the good news is they’re having a Final Blowout Event on Saturday and Sunday, and you’re invited.

Come out from noon to 6 p.m. for free wine tastings, live music and a yard sale. A Jimmy Buffett tribute band will perform from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, and a ‘60s Woodstock tribute band will perform 1-5 p.m. on Sunday.

Parking and admission are free.
