Waynesboro's The Dawg House to host local celebrity bartenders

WAYNESBORO >> Jackie Mowen, executive director of The Greater Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce, and Greg Duffey of Craig, Friedly, Potter & Moore Insurance Agency will be serving as "celebrity bartenders" at The Dawg House, 6640 Buchanan Trail East, making drinks and taking food orders from 5-9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, to benefit Mainstreet Waynesboro Inc.

"Jackie and Greg drew a huge crowd when they last got together behind the bar, and we're excited to see this successful combination in action for the second time," said Scott Hershberger, MSW's director of economic development, in a press release announcing the event. "It will also be nice to host this event at the new location of The Dawg House. People who haven't been there yet will be impressed."

All of Mowen and Duffey's tips will go to Mainstreet Waynesboro, and the manager of The Dawg House has agreed to donate 20 percent of the evening's food sales as well.

In addition to regular menu items, a family-style dinner of meat loaf, mashed potatoes and a vegetable will be offered. For this event, anyone under the age of 21 is permitted inside of the building until 9 p.m.

Singer/ guitarist Rich Fehle is scheduled to provide live music throughout the evening, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Hershberger said that this "celebrity bartender" event will also double as a pre-game party as it coincides with a Monday Night Football matchup between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles. Guests who come to dinner are encouraged to wear their favorite team colors or jerseys as they prepare for kick-off, scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
