Music, movies and more at Second Saturdays at Chambers Fort Park

CHAMBERSBURG >> Second Saturdays are back this summer at Chambers Fort Park, featuring live music from 5 to 8 p.m. and movies beginning at dusk.

Coordinated by Downtown Chambersburg Inc. (DCI), the Second Saturday series kicks-off on June 13 and continues through September (July 11, August 8 and September 12).

"Providing free, family-friendly events in our downtown for people of all ages to enjoy is a priority for us," said Noel Purdy, president of DCI. "We want everyone to experience all that downtown has to offer and take advantage of the great restaurants, retailers and business professionals who serve our community in the heart of Chambersburg."

Second Saturday events begin with Concerts in the Park from 5 to 8 p.m. featuring local musicians. Performing on June 13 will be Tim Franklin of the Pillow Army. The concerts are sponsored by Volvo Construction Equipment.

Following the live music will be the Downtown Summer Movie Series showing recently released family films. Each night includes a theme relating to the movie for kids and parents to participate in, such as Teddy Bear Night and Princess Night. Sponsored by Summit Health, movies begin at dusk.
