Don't waste another minute trying to find something to do this summer.

From a summer art and music market in downtown York to a concert series along the Susquehanna River, you'll never be bored with this list of outdoor music events in York County.

The best part? They're all free.

Box Lunch Revue

When: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays

Where: Cherry Lane, downtown York

If you live or work in downtown York, the Box Lunch Revue is a great place to catch some live music on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Grab lunch to go at Central Market or another nearby eatery and enjoy it while listening to music in Cherry Lane.

You’ll see acts ranging from jazz, folk, indie, country, Celtic, Hawaiian and blues on Tuesdays and Thursdays through Aug. 30. New performers this year include Mylea Thompson (July 21), Strange Foke (July 28), Justin Angelo (Aug. 18) and Poorhouse Yard (Aug. 23).

Bands and beer at Black Cap Brewing Co.

When: 7-9:30 p.m. July 23 and Aug. 20

Where: Black Cap Brewing Co., 5 W. High St., Red Lion

Stop by the Red Lion brewery for a craft beer and some acoustic music this summer. The Scott Snyder & Mark Babka Duo will bring their classic rock show to Black Cap Brewing Co. on July 23, and Red Lion native Bryan Dixon will perform a range of bluegrass, classic rock and modern-day pop on Aug. 20.

Brown's Sunday Concert Series

When: 2:30-5 p.m. Sundays

Where: Brown's Orchards and Farm Market, 8892 Susquehanna Trail South, Loganville

Enjoy a hand-dipped Hershey's ice cream cone, a Mr. B's BBQ sandwich and live music during Brown's Orchard's free concert series this summer. You'll hear everything from country to bluegrass to classic oldies rock at the pavilion on Sunday afternoons through Oct. 16.

Friday Nite Unwinds at Shank's Mare

When: 6-9 p.m. July 8 and 22, Aug. 12 and 26 and Sept. 9

Where: Shank's Mare, 2092 Long Level Road, Wrightsville

Right along the Susquehanna River, you can’t ask for a better setting for a summer concert than Shank’s Mare. Grab your friends and a cooler of drinks and unwind after work on a Friday night.

Go for a paddle in a kayak or canoe or sit along the bank, where you’ll hear free music from local acts like Indian Summer Jars and 3 Dollar Suit. Shank’s Mare’s Lock 2 Café will also offer dinner specials along with its regular menu, snacks, drinks and ice cream during each show.

Lincoln Park Concert Series

When: 7 p.m. Thursdays

Where: Parkway Boulevard and Roosevelt Avenue, York

Jazz, R&B, classic rock and top 40 hits are headed to Lincoln Park in York, starting July 21. Bring snacks, lawn chairs and blankets to the park every Thursday through Aug. 18 for a night filled with music, friends and fun.

Long’s Park Summer Music Series

When: 7:30 p.m. Sundays and select Saturdays

Where: Long's Park Amphitheater, 1441 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster

Looking for a fun reason to spend your weekends outside? The Long’s Park Summer Music Series brings national jazz, folk, soul, country, blues and more acts to the Long’s Park Amphitheater stage on Sundays and select Saturdays through Aug. 28. The Saturday concerts, which are new to the series this year, will feature local Lancaster-area acts. Performances will be held rain or shine.

Lyric Band of Hanover

When: 6:30 or 7 p.m. Sundays

Where: Codorus State Park Bandshell, Dubs Church Road, Hanover

The Lyric Band of Hanover is back for its 47th season of free concerts this summer. See them and other area big bands at Codorus State Park on Sunday nights through Sept. 4. Performances July 10 through Aug. 7 begin at 7 p.m. All other shows start at 6:30 p.m.

Music in the Park at Coleman Park

When: 7 p.m. Sundays

Where: Coleman Park Veteran's Memorial Amphitheater, 1400 W. Maple St., Lebanon

From gospel singers The Talleys and Guy Penrod to local acts like the Hershey Symphony Orchestra, you'll find a good variety at the Music in the Park series in Lebanon. All concerts begin at 7 p.m. on Sundays through Aug. 28.

The Parliament’s Summer Art Market

When: noon to 8 p.m. July 30 and noon to 6 p.m. July 31

Where: Royal Square District, downtown York

The last weekend in July is your chance to see a range of local, national and international music acts in York – all for free. That's when The Parliament Arts Organization is hosting its first-ever Summer Art Market, featuring more than 80 artisan craft vendors, food trucks, children’s activities and live music.

If you go, be sure to check out the York College Stage on King Street, where you’ll find local acts in the early afternoon and larger national acts in the evenings. Philadelphia rock band Strand of Oaks will headline the event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 30. But don’t miss other acts like the Brazilian psychedelic rock band Boogarins or Boston’s indie-rock band Quilt.

Springettsbury's Sounds of Summer Concert Series 

When: 7 p.m. Sundays and Wednesdays

Where: Springettsbury Township Park Amphitheater, 1501 Mount Zion Road, York

You'll want to bring your lawn chairs and your appetite for this summer concert series at Springettsbury Township Park. Bands perform a variety of music from ‘80s hits to smooth jazz at 7 p.m. every Sunday and Wednesday through July 31. Food trucks will be on site with French fries, funnel cakes, ice cream, crab cake sandwiches and more at each show.

Don’t miss the series’ final performance: a summertime tribute to Jimmy Buffett. Performances are held rain or shine. Concerts may be moved to Central York Middle School in the event of inclement weather.
