First Friday York in June is a Brewhaha with beer and party games

Kick off the first Friday of summer with a frosty cold one at York's very own Brewhaha. First Friday festivities will be from 5 to 9 p.m. in about 60 different participating businesses while beer — the star of this month's event — will be available for sampling at 15 locations.

While the beer tastings are only available for those of legal age, there are plenty of family-friendly events on the schedule.

If you're headed downtown, check out these top five must-see stops for First Friday.

1. Beer Ace and Brewery Products on North Beaver Street

The local beer lover's best friend, the Beer Ace, will be hosting a slew of games to keep beer drinkers busy. Check out can jam, giant Jenga and Connect Four, as well as cornhole.

While you're there, visit the representatives from Brewery Products. Play a round of Budweiser Football, where everyone has the chance to win a prize. They'll also be able to give you a list of all the locations featuring beer samples, such as Kimman's, where all men are king for a day. The first 100 gentleman to sample Budweiser, the "King of Beers," will receive a crown.

2. Get a dress and golf balls at Elizabeth and West

Need a Father's Day gift on the fly? Head to Elizabeth and West, 15 N. Beaver St., and be one of the first 10 people to spend $50 in order to receive a bucket of balls at Heritage Hills Golf Resort driving range in York Township. Dad will love a day of whacking balls.

3. Richard A. Reilly's root beer floats and mug painting

Take a few more steps down the street and pop in at Richard A. Reilly's office, 54 N. Duke St., where beer samples courtesy of Beer Mongers will be flowing. Have a few little ones with you? Root beer floats will be on tap, too. New Freedom Art will be in the house to help visitors paint a beer mug — which would make a great Father's Day gift. Artists Michael Brothers and Cherie Taormian will be around for a meet-and-greet.

4. Wild and Wooly Art Show

Skip over to Marketview Arts, 37 W. Philadelphia St., where the Wild and Wooly Art Show will take center stage.

Creative works will depict everything from cats to cranes, bears to boars, and many other animals. If you have time to return on Saturday, stop by between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for a free child's wildlife workshop.

5. 56 Provision's BLT bar

Hungry? Head to Royal Square where 56 Urban Provisions, 56 S. Duke St., will be cooking up BLTs featuring Empire Mayonnaise products. From bacon to roasted garlic, white truffle and sriracha, there are plenty of exciting flavors to add to this classic sandwich.

Other things to check out:

Ak Beatz Studio, 117 S. Duke St., will host a karaoke party featuring DJ Karaoke Kid. Plus, plenty of beer to sample.

• The Parliament, 116 E. King St., will host a DIY workshop for all things manly. Want to learn how to improve your home, office or other space? Stop on by.

HIVE artspace, 126 E. King St, will launch The Great Big Bug Show no. 3, featuring live bug demonstration to help celebrate a variety of unique creatures. Plus, the first 25 men to visit the gallery get a beer-related goodie.

Grace Manor Bed and Breakfast, 258 W. Market St., will thank Dad's for all they do by offering delicious food. Fill up on wing, mac and cheese and bacon-wrapped jalapenos.

The Waterway York, 220 W. Philadelphia St., offers your first drink for free between 2 and 8 p.m. every First Friday.
