Knitting Group: Spring Grove: Calling all knitters, crocheters and spinners! Join a talented group of fiber artists from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 18 at Glatfelter Memorial Library, 101 Glenview Road. Meet some new people who share a common interest. Beginners are welcome too, although this isn't a class setting. No need to register. Just drop in. Last Comic Standing Live Show: York: Season 9 of "Last Comic Standing" premiered July 22 on NBC, with an all new group of the world's funniest comics. Read and interview with Clayton English. See the finalists perform live, as the Last Comic Standing Live Tour takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. October 20 at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center, 50 N. Spooky York Downtown Dark History Tour: York: Quartering, cannibals and hauntings, oh my. Downtown Inc. presents the Spooky York Downtown Dark History Tour from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 21 and 22, departing from Continental Square. Tour Guide Meg Feeser will lead this 90 minute spooky event. Park Excursion: Shrewsbury, Spring eld and North Hopewell Townships: Take a 75-minute ride on a truck-pulled people-mover at at 2, 4 and 6 p.m. Oct. 22 at Spring Valley County Park on Crest Road in Glen Rock. Parks Program Coordinator Jeri Jones will take participants back in time to tell the famous story about the "Hex" murder, and look at nature and discuss local folklore. Cost is $10 person. Halloween in the Park: Hanover: Join the Friends of Codorus State Park for a Halloween event that will feature hayrides and other activities from 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 23 and 24 at Codorus State Park, 1066 Blooming Grove Road. Dracula, Up Close and Personal: Spring Garden Township: There is no place to hide in the intimate setting of The Bon Ton Studio during this fresh, action-packed adaptation of Bram Stoker's classic tale of horror, running Oct. 23, 24, 25, and Oct. 29, 30, 31 and November 1 at York Little Theatre, 27 South Belmont Street. Hersheypark in the Dark: Hershey: Experience thrilling "roller ghosters," spooktacular attractions, and exciting entertainment every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 16 through November 1 at Hersheypark, 100 W. 66th Annual York Halloween Parade: York: The Annual York Halloween Parade starts at 2 p.m. Oct. 25, heading down Market Street, from Richland Avenue through downtown York to Broad Street. The theme for this year's parade is "Proud Past, Strong Future," and entrants are encouraged to convey York County's accomplishments in their float designs and marching drills. The Family Entertainment Zone will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. with inflatables, games, activities and music. Visit yorkhalloweenparade.com for details.
