Gettysburg Brew Fest: What you need to know


The essentials

The Gettysburg Brew Fest will be 4:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, 61 Seminary Ridge in Gettysburg. Here's the official website.

Fifty one breweries will be represented at the Gettysburg Brew Fest this year. Thirty two of those are from Pennsylvania. Some names you might recognize include Aldus Brewing Co., Appalachian Brewing Co., Battlefield Brew Works, Crystal Ball Brewing Co., Evil Genius Beer Co., Lancaster Brewing Co., Liquid Hero Brewery, Miscreation Brewing Co., Roy Pitz Brewing Co., Something Wicked Brewing Co., South County Brewing Co., Troeg's Brewing Co., Wyndridge Farm Cidery, Yards Brewing Co. and Yuengling and Sons Brewing.

Four food trucks will serving at Gettysburg Brew Fest -- Uncle Moe's Soul Food, Mad Dash Gourmet Grilled Cheese, Uncle Paul's Stuffed Pretzels, and Pork Authority BBQ.

VIP tickets are sold out for the 2015 event, but general admission ($45) and designated driver ($20) tickets are still available. General admission includes a pint glass and unlimited brew and cider samples. Designated drivers get a pint glass and unlimited gourmet soda and water.

Also available on the Gettysburg Brew Fest website are tickets for historic tours to take the day of the event. There is a Historic Taverns of Adams County tour ($22) offered at noon and 2:15 p.m. and a Seminary Ridge Museum Tour ($20).

Tickets sold out last year, so don't count on tickets being available the day of the event.

Where's your money going? The event is a fundraiser for the Lutheran Theological Seminary. There are no refunds.

This is a 21 and older event.

The Gettysburg Brew Fest will be held rain or shine. So check the forecast and come prepared.

Know where to park

The Gettysburg Brew Fest is held at the Lutheran Theological Seminary, 61 Seminary Ridge in Gettysburg. There is limited parking available at the Seminary behind Valentine Hall. Additional street parking along Springs Avenue and parking will be permitted at the YWCA after 3 p.m.

Free parking and a free shuttle service will run from the lot on 941 Fairfield Road in Gettysburg -- it is the Tom Livelsberger Kia lot near the YWCA entrance.

If you can't find a spot, head to the downtown Transit Center. Shuttles ($1 each way) will run from the Transit Center to the Brew Fest until 8:30 p.m.
