Harrisburg bar hikes cover charge for ages 21-24

A bar in Harrisburg is charging a higher cover charge for patrons younger than 25, according to a post on its Facebook page.

A co-owner of Double D's Sportsbar + Grill told Pennlive.com that the bar wants "mature customers."

"The young ones are the ones creating problems for businesses," Nestor Dalaperas told Pennlive.

City officials have been trying to close down bars where there have been problems, including shootings, according to reports.

A photo of a sign posted by Double D's on Facebook shows a cover charge as high as $40 for 21-year-olds, dropping in $5 increments for patrons who are 22, 23 and 24. The business charges a cover on weekends, Pennlive reported, with the normal range being $5 to $10.
