Anchor Jim Sinkovitz to sign off from WGAL

Longtime anchor Jim Sinkovitz will broadcast for the last time at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9 on WGAL News 8, according to a news release.

Sinkovitz's final air comes at the tail end of working 45 years in the news industry.

The Harrisburg native first served as a news reporter and anchor at WGAL from 1987 to 1995, according to the release. He then left to work in Philadelphia before returning in 2008 to WGAL.

Sinkovitz is a graduate of Wesley College in Delaware and is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
