Harrisburg Beer Week adds new event

Beer runs look a little different these days.

For the first time, Harrisburg Beer Week will start with a race -- the #HBGBeerWeek Maybe 5K presented by the Beer Alliance.

Runners will take their mark at 10 a.m. April 23 at Zeroday Brewing Company and lap a square city block, which equals 1K. The "maybe" part of the race's name might come from the idea that runners pick their distance -- 1K, 5K, 10K, or more.

The cost to participate is $25. All proceeds will go toward helping Harrisburg River Rescue & Emergency Services, the exclusive beneficiary of Harrisburg Beer Week.

Registration is open now until April 18. Register here: https://runsignup.com/Race/PA/Harrisburg/HarrisburgBeerWeekMaybe5K.

In addition to the 5K, beer week signature events also include the V.I.P Beer Week Kick-Off Party at the Abbey Bar at ABC, Harrisburg River Rescue Open House and "Bent Propellor” Release, Battle of the Homebrew Clubs at First National Bank Field and Little Big Beer Fest at the Abbey Bar at ABC

Harrisburg Beer Week is from April 22-30. For more information, visit harrisburgbeerweek.com.
