In a classic Bachelor twist, JoJo is the next Bachelorette, capping off one of the most.dramatic.season.finales.ever.

The announcement came during the After The Final Rose special following Bachelor Ben's engagement to Lauren B., and nearly an hour and a half of emotional clips of JoJo professing her love for Ben and crying over the ultimate rejection.

Were we tricked into falling harder for JoJo by the love talk and hard let down in the finale? Yes.

Did she come across as real and open and assertive in her feelings (all the signs of a good future Bachelorette)? Yes. Though it's hard to tell how much originated from JoJo herself and how much was editing.

The positive in the announcement is that JoJo has won over many fans and is comfortable speaking her mind.

But Bachelor once again passed over an opportunity to make the show more diverse. It's hard to be surprised at the announcement of the 12th white Bachelorette in 12 seasons. Yet, here we are.
