Janet Jackson postpones tour, needs surgery

Janet Jackson has postponed her concert tour until next spring due to unspecified surgery.

The singer, 49, posted a message on her website Thursday that she'd just learned from her doctors that she needs an operation soon, though she didn't provide any details. She asked fans to "pray for me and my family," though she promised she's "gon b alright."

And she vowed to reschedule every date in her Unbreakable tour, whose next scheduled stop was Jan. 9 in Denver, urging fans to hold onto their tickets, which will be "honored in a special way" when the tour resumes.

There were 74 additional dates scheduled through June 29, starting with a swing through the Western U.S. and including an April leg in Europe; it's unclear how many of those later dates are affected.
