Comedian Kevin Meaney dies at 60
Veteran stand-up comedian and actor Kevin Meaney has died at 60, his agent confirmed. He was found unresponsive in his Forestburgh, N.Y., home and an autopsy is pending, The Hollywood Reporter notes.
In addition to being a mainstay on the stand-up circuit, he had roles in the 1988 Tom Hanks comedy Big, as well as the early '90s TV adaptation of Uncle Buck.
His other credits include 30 Rock, 2 Broke Girls and voice work on Garfield and Friends,Rocko's Modern Life, Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist and Mad Jack the Pirate.
Meaney also made late-night appearances on both the Johnny Carson and Jay Leno versions of The Tonight Show, Late Night With Conan O'Brien, The Daily Show and performed in his own HBO special.
He also played multiple roles in the Broadway musical Hairspray.
Fellow comedians remembered him on Twitter.
"He could make you lose your mind laughing," recalled Judd Apatow.
"A genius has vacated this realm," lamented Roseanne Barr.
