Lancaster Craft Beerfest returning with music, food trucks

A couple of thousand people showed up at last year's Lancaster Craft Beerfest, so Year Three seemed inevitable.

In fact, the VIP tickets are already sold out for the Aug. 29 event. Not to worry. It's just more beer a little earlier, and general admission tickets are still in the mix.

This is why the event is wildly popular:

1. Craft beer. More than 50 breweries (and growing). 'Nuff said.

2. Music. It's Hambone Relay from 3-5 p.m. and The Royal Noise from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

3. Food trucks. Ten of them, from the spicy slow-cooked pork of York's Baron Von Schwein to Lancaster's Sugar Whipped Bakery.

4. Location. It's in downtown Lancaster surrounding Lancaster Square and Binns Park (120 N. Queen St.). Much to do. Enjoy it.

General admission tickets -- 3-ounce samplers -- are $40 for 4-7:30 p.m., and designated driving tickets are $12 for 3-7:30 p.m. Tickets sold out last year, so get on this (no tickets at the door). Buy tickets here..
