Get a taste of Gettysburg at upcoming food tours

Savor Gettysburg Food Tours is kicking off its third annual touring season on April 1.

The unique tasting experience will begin its seven-month access to Gettysburg’s restaurant scene through walking tours that enhance local tastings with the rich history of the town.

“We have a thriving food scene here in Gettysburg, and I’m so honored to be able to showcase it,” said Lori Korcyzk, the owner and tour director of Savor Gettysburg Food Tours.

Two three-hour walking tours are offered that give participants different ways to experience the restaurant scene in Gettysburg.

The Historic Downtown Food Tour comprises seven tasting locations. It will treat guests to samples from locations like Garryowen Irish Pub and Mr. G’s Ice Cream. The tour will also feature historic vignettes throughout the day to enrich the journey.

The other option is the Wine, Cider and Dine Tour, which includes four downtown tasting rooms. The tour will allow attendees to discover the Gettysburg food and wine scene at places like Adams County Winery and Food 101, which will feature a three-course tapas tasting.

Savor Gettysburg is adding a new way to tour this year for groups on bus tours.

“They may not be walking in town, but they are being led on the food,” said Korcyzk.

The bus tour feature two distinctive tours: a historic in-town tour and a scenic Adams County tour, which explores perimeter locales in Gettysburg.

Korcyzk said the tours are new and interesting ways to experience the historic town.

“There’s no better way to experience a town than to eat your way through it and learn a bit of history along the way,” said Korcyzk.
