Which liquor reigns supreme in York, Adams counties?


When it comes to liquor, we don't have to tell York and Adams counties to drink up.

Even if you fancy a scotch on the rocks or a margarita with a lime, the most popular spirit in the area is vodka, according to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board 2014-15 Retail Year in Review.

Adams County sold more than $600,000 in vodka, and York sold over a whopping $6 million, according to the data.

As for Fine Wine and Good Spirits stores, Hanover's Eisenhower Drive location ranks No. 64 in sales out of 619 stores across the state. Gettysburg's York Road location comes in slightly behind at No. 88.

Hanover's Fine Wine and Good Spirits store had a dollar sale of just over $7 million in 2014-15, according to data from the Liquor Control Board.

Gettysburg's store came in just behind Hanover with over $6 million in dollar sales.

The Liquor Control Board provided the top three categories of liquor and the top five products within the categories for both York and Adams counties for the 2014-15 retail year.
