Northeastern orchestras perform with Break of Reality
An alternative cello-percussion group called Break of Reality visited Northeastern High School Monday for the second time.
Members rehearsed with middle and high school orchestra students in preparation for a concert in the evening, during which students planned to join them for some of the pieces.
Break of Reality has toured overseas, and has eclectic influences: classic, rock, indie and folk.
Northeastern orchestra director Brenda Johnson wrote in an email: "Our strings program has experienced explosive growth in the last five years as we expose students to more types of alternative string playing in addition to traditional classical literature."
