PrimoHoagies, a Philadelphia-based sandwich chain, is opening a new location in Springettsbury Township this winter.

The shop will occupy an open space in the Firehouse Shoppes at 3013 E. Market St., near the Moe’s Southwest Grill and next to an AT&T store.

PrimoHoagies is known for its variety of sandwiches, called hoagies in the true Philadelphia-style vocabulary.

Franchise owner Jen Goyne said the quality of the product pushed her to franchise her first store in Wilkes-Barre. The Springettsbury location will be her fourth.

“I was a customer first. I actually love the product,” Goyne said. “We have a lot of unique sandwiches. I enjoy introducing it to people.”

Goyne said the store will feature “authentic Philly hoagies” with fresh-baked bread on premise every day. The sandwiches include the Italian — prosciutto, provolone cheese, Thumann’s hot capacola and genoa salami — and the Audie, featuring Thumann’s turkey breast and oven-roasted beef with American cheese.

PrimoHoagies will feature dine-in seating, carry-out and delivery options.

The Springettsbury location will be the first PrimoHoagies in York County. The sandwich chain has locations in Lancaster and Lititz.

Goyne expects the shop to be open for the Christmas shopping season. She said the store will hire about 15 to 25 workers.
