A California-based gourmet hot dog restaurant is setting its sights on southcentral Pennsylvania, according to a company release.

Dog Haus, which has 21 stores in five states, will expand over the next several years opening stores in 14 additional states, including Pennsylvania and Maryland. The expansion is part of a deal with American Development Partners that includes $500 million in investment and more than 300 new locations.

The company is planning to open several locations in Pennsylvania, including stores in York and Lebanon counties, a company spokesman said.

Exact locations have not yet been determined and the timing of the opening of locations depends on the availability of real estate, officials said. The goal is to open as soon as possible within the next few years, the spokesman said.

Dog Haus serves a variety of hot dogs and sausages. The company opened its first store in October 2010 in California.

Dog Haus uses an all-beef skinless hot dog and adds a variety of toppings from arugula and basil aioli to bacon, peppers and mustard.

Dog Haus is the latest chain restaurant looking to set up shop in York County, Pie Five Pizza, a Dallas-based pizza chain, announced plans to open two restaurants in York County in 2017.

“We’re very excited by the Pennsylvania market,” Erik Hartung, Dog Haus director of franchise development said in an email. “It has a number of great food towns that keep getting better and better."
