Oliva Farabaugh to perform at 'Books, Blues and Brews'

Palmyra's Olivia Farabaugh, who performed on "The Voice," will be performing at the "Books, Blues and Brews" event at Snitz Creek Brewery in South Londonderry.

The Palmyra Public Library is partnering with Snitz Creek Brewery's South Londonderry location, 318 Taxiway Road, to host an evening of entertainment, according to a news release issued by the Palmyra Public Library. The event will occur on Nov. 17 from 6 to 9 p.m.

"Farabaugh was sought out by “The Voice” executives after they discovered her on the music site ReverbNation, allowing her to skip the open call and go directly to a private audition session in New York City," the news release said. "Farabaugh got the call that she would be one of the singers selected to perform on the show, and she also found out she made it to the blind audition stage of the show."

Farabaugh was eliminated from the competition, but said while she was disappointed that she didn’t advance in the competition she still valued the honest feedback from the judges, according to the news release. She is currently competing in the Nash Next 2016 competition for a chance to win a recording contract with Big Machine Records.

Tickets for the "Books, Blues and Brews" event featuring Farabaugh are available for purchase at Palmyra Public Library or on Palmyra Public Library’s website lclibs.org/palmyra. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door, and they will include musical entertainment by Olivia Farabaugh, food, two drink tickets, corn hole tournaments and other activities and games. All proceeds benefit Palmyra Public Library.
