Tyra quits 'FABLife' talk show

It's over for Tyra Banks on FABLife.

Less than three months after launching the new talk show, the supermodel and TV host is walking away, it was announced Friday. In a recent interview, Banks told USA TODAY she decided to fully focus on her cosmetics line, Tyra Beauty.

Banks, who previously hosted The Tyra Banks Show from 2005 - 2010, said she had been intrigued by the opportunity of speaking directly to women again through FABLife, "but it competed for my time in a way that you cannot run a business and do a daytime talk show. And I thought I could. And I can't," she says.

The concept behind FABLife employed a variety of voices and Banks has been the most famous face on the ABC daytime show, which is co-hosted by model Chrissy Teigen, fashion editor Joe Zee, interior designer Lauren Makk and YouTube star Leah Ashley.

But the schedule wasn't working for her, says Banks, who realized "that if I stepped away (from entertainment) for five years to start (Tyra Beauty) I need to focus on this, and not run my company in emails and in quick meetings between shows of FABLife. And I made that decision."

Banks' long-running reality competition show, America's Next Top Model, will wrap on Dec. 4 after 12 years on television and 22 seasons, though the show is currently fielding offers to continue on cable or streaming services.
