American Pie singer Don McLean emerged from radio silence Thursday, two days after news broke that he'd been arrested on domestic assault charges in Maine.
He made a 6-part statement via Twitter, explaining it as the fallout of the "breakdown of an almost 30-year marriage." He added that, "There are no winners and losers but I am not a villain." He ended by asking that he not be "judged in this frantic media environment."
