Local re-enactors host 'Skirmish of Campbells' Run'
CHAMBERSBURG - The 22nd Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry, Company A, and the 17th Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry, Company F, will host their annual re-enactment and living history encampment, Skirmish of Campbells' Run Spring Muster, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 8-10.
The event will take place at the Antique Steam Engine Grounds in Twin Bridges, 1501 Criders’ Church Road, Chambersburg, with camps opening for re-enactors at noon Friday and breaking at 3 p.m. Sunday. Living history encampments and sutlers' tents will open to the public at 9 a.m. Friday.
Major events Saturday will include a 1:30 p.m. ladies' tea, a 3:30 p.m.tug-o-war and an 8-10 p.m. period ball. Camps re-open to the public at 9 a.m. Sunday, and Sunday events include a 9 a.m. church service which is open to the public, and a 1 p.m. battle.
