'Voice' finalist to perform at Pleasant Hill carnival

A week filled with festival fun is coming back to Hanover.

The Pleasant Hill Firefighters Carnival kicks off on Monday, and the annual event promises to bring "great food and rides nightly" to West Manheim Township, Jamie Cramer, carnival chairman, said.

Each night, the festivities will feature dinner specials starting at 5 p.m. and entertainment shows beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Dinner specials include platters of baked ham, crab cakes and roast turkey, among other delectable dishes that will rotate each evening.

The scheduled performers are mostly local bands, including DaNica Shirey, a York native and former contestant on NBC's "The Voice," Cramer said. Shirey will perform with fellow "The Voice" contestant Jimi Milligan in The Big House Band on Friday evening. Other groups slated to perform include Borderline, Silver Eagle Band and Dean Crawford & the Dunn's River Band.

The event offers free parking and free admission all week long. Bracelets for rides will be available for purchase at the carnival.
