Arts Council offers Arts in the Alley


CHAMBERSBURG - The Chambersburg Council for the Arts debuts Arts in the Alley, an outdoor event with live music, creative food and art demonstrations, from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, in the alley behind the Council for the Arts and Bistro 71 at 30 W. King St., Chambersburg.

The family-friendly, rain or shine event will feature glass blowing demonstrations by Glass Routes, Pottery wheel demonstrations by Evan Thomas and Don Burkholder, Jackson Pollack kids' art projects, samples from Bistro 71 Chef Dustin John, craft beers by GearHouse Brewery Co. and Roy Pitz Liquid Art, tattoo artist Derek Bender of Big Hot Olive Tattoo face painting, children;s art projects and more.

The music schedule for the day is:

1-3 p.m. Jerry Rigged

3-4 p.m. Tresa Paul Drum Circle

4-6 p.m. Sons of Pitches

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and younger.Tickets will be sold in $5 increments to purchase food and drink. ID is required at the door to purchase drink tickets.
