See artists in action at York Monster Drawing Rally

Creative York is bringing a Monster Drawing Rally to York next month.

And before you ask – no, that doesn’t mean the event is about drawing monsters.

The “Monster” in the title actually refers to the size of the event, which will feature local artists, live music and food from 6-9:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at Central Market, 34 W. Philadelphia St., York.

At this part performance, part art bazaar, guests will watch as local artists create a piece of artwork in one hour or less, according to Creative York director of marketing and development Laura Abbott. Each piece will then be auctioned off at a silent auction. Bidding starts at $25.

Artwork will range from paintings and drawings to prints and sculptures, Abbott said.

Local musician Soji will perform, and food and beverages from The Busy Bee and Mudhook Brewing Co. will be available for purchase.

Admission is $5 per person. Children under 10 get in free.

A call for artists is open through Nov. 30.
