Things to do in Lebanon this weekend


Tickets are on sale Friday for Luke Bryan’s stop in Hershey, along with a comedian, plus more High School Musical Theater is hitting the stage. More on those events and more on what’s happening around the area in the upcoming weeks.

Spring musical season is here around the area high schools, and the next chance to see one starts tonight through this weekend. New Covenant Christian School Middle School/High School present "Peter Pan Jr." on March 17 at 7 p.m., 18 at 7:30 p.m. and 19 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for students. More information is available by contacting the school office.

Tickets are on sale Friday at 10 a.m. for Luke Bryan’s stop at Hersheypark Stadium, as part of his Kill the Lights tour, which will kick off the stadium’s summer concert series. Bryan comes to Hershey Saturday, June 4 at 7 p.m. Joining him for the night will be Little Big Town and Dustin Lynch.

Tickets are on sale Friday at 11 a.m. for comedian Brian Regan’s performance at Hershey Theatre Sunday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. Regan comes to Hershey as part of his summer and fall tours. Tickets for the show are $47.85, plus processing fees apply. “Terror in the Tuplehocken” is coming to Historic Schaefferstown. The exhibit will be held Sunday, March 20 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Brendle Museum’s Lower Level, located at 111 N. Market Street. It will be performed by speaker Lynn Otto. The exhibit is a study of a period in the Tulpehocken Valley when the threat of French and Indians reached its peak. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. For details, call 717-949-2244.

Check out some “Thursday Theater” tonight, featuring international & independent films. The event starts at 6 p.m. at the Elizabethville Area Library located at 80 N. Market St. in Elizabethville. Work in some daily exercise to your daily routine with the Walk Hershey Walk. It is a 45-minute fitness walk with Shelly. It meets Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. at Founder's Hall on the Milton Hershey School campus. Go to www.facebook.com/walk.hershey.walk for more information.

A Manufacturer’s roundtable discussion is happening Friday. "Manufacturing: Resources for Success" will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. at the HACC Lebanon Campus, located at 735 Cumberland St., Lebanon. The event is free and members & non-members are welcome. Come support a youth project with an appetite. The AYCE Pancake Breakfast will take place Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m. at Immanuel UMC, located at 29 E. Maple St. in Cleona. The breakfast benefits the Youth's Spring Service Project. Cost is by donation.

Dance the night away at the Metropolitan Area Dance Club. The dance is Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. in the PA Dance Sport Ballroom, located at 585 E. Main Street in Hummelstown. For more information, call 717-774-2171.

"The Plight of the Monarch Butterfly," presented by Dan Babbitt & Linda Stuart, is Sunday at 2 p.m. in Meeting Room 2 of the Hershey Public Library. The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Derry Environmental Action Committee.

Dance with the Polka Pals of Lebanon Dance this Sunday afternoon. The event takes place from 2 to 6 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Social Hall, located on Cornwall Rd. and Route 419. It is open to the public. For tickets, call Joe at 717-566-5704. Tickets will also be available at the door.

With Easter coming, you’ll want to head over to the sweetest place on earth for an Easter Basket Bonanza and other spring-themed classes. Some upcoming classes include an Easter Basket Bonanza at The Hershey Story Museum, March 19-20 and March 25-28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and a visit with the Easter Bunny Saturday, March 19, from 2 to 5 p.m. Spring-themed chocolate lab classes will begin Friday, March 25 with select classes being offered through April. Each class is 45 minutes. Check HersheyStory.org for a complete class schedule. Children are required to be four years old or older to enter the lab. Here’s an update of what’s coming up at the Governor Dick Environmental Center. On March 25 at 6:30 p.m., it’s all about Spring Amphibians. Don your boots for a walk to the pools where frogs and salamanders have laid their eggs. You’ll learn about their life cycles and how to identify the eggs. Bring a flashlight. Then on March 26 at 1 p.m., its "Whose Egg?"  This egg hunt focuses on the many creatures that lay eggs.  First, the book "Whose Egg?" will be read and then go on an egg hunt hike. Cost is $5 per child. Governor Dick Environmental Center is located at 3283 Pinch Road in Mt. Gretna.
