Totem Pole Playhouse to resume free trolley service from Gettysburg

Totem Pole Playhouse, located between Gettysburg and Chambersburg, in Caledonia State Park, has renewed their agreement with Gettysburg Tours to provide free trolley service from downtown Gettysburg to the playhouse two nights a week beginning June 26 and continuing throughout the summer until Aug. 22.

The trolley is being sponsored by WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital for the second consecutive summer season.

The Totem Pole Trolley will run the second and third weekend of each production but not on opening weekends during previews. The trolley will pick up ticket buyers for "Shenandoah" on June 26 and 27, and July 3 and 4. Pick-up for "The Memoirs of Abraham Lincoln" will be July 17 and 18, and July 24 and 25. Pick-up for "Grease" will run Aug. 7 and 8, and August 14 and 15. The final trolley pick-up will be for the production of "Lovesick Blues" on Aug. 21 and 22.

Patrons who have purchased a ticket for that night's performance may board the trolley at the Gettysburg Tour Center on Baltimore Street at 6:45 p.m. each Friday and Saturday evening. From there, the trolley will make a brief stop in front of the Gettysburg Hotel on Lincoln Square at 6:55 p.m., and a stop at SpiriTrust Lutheran (formerly, Gettysburg Lutheran Home) on High Street at 7:05 p.m. The trolley will make its final stop at the Village of Laurel Run on Chambersburg Road in Fayetteville at 7:35 p.m., and arrive at Totem Pole Playhouse at 7:45 p.m.

WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital is sponsoring the trolley which will run throughout the entire summer season. A 25 percent discount will be offered to the senior residents of SpiriTrust and The Village of Laurel Run.
