5 things to do in Hanover-Adams this weekend


You’ve made it another week, and the weekend is finally here! If you are looking for something to help kick start your weekend, look no further. Here is this week’s list of five fun events for the entire family in the Hanover area:

Get spooked at Kim's Krypt  

Start your Halloween season early. This Friday is opening night at Kim's Krypt Haunted Mill in Spring Grove, and doors open at 6 p.m. Be the first to experience all five thrilling horror attractions, plus the brand new side attraction, Dark Despair, which features total darkness. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door, and the first 100 customers receive a free Kim's Krypt Kampout water bottle.

The Wizard of Oz

What better way to dive into the weekend than by watching a classic show? Visit the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. Saturday or 2 p.m. Sunday to watch the wonderful Wizard of Oz. Ticket prices are $19 for adults and $14 for children.

Family fall festival

Fall festivities for the entire family to enjoy, and best of all — free admission! Cross Keys Community Park in New Oxford will host a fall fest from 3 p.m. to dark Saturday. There will be inflatables, children's games, a bake sale, hay rides and pumpkin painting, as well as a pet parade. Finish off the day with a free outdoor movie. Be sure to bring your blankets and chairs to make yourself comfortable.

Wine Tasting on the Hill

Here is an event for the wine lovers out there. Come to 3003 Baltimore Pike from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday to enjoy wine, live music, food, and other vendors. There will be many wineries to choose from and taste; you will be sure to find one you’ll love. Tickets are $15 if purchased in advance, or $20 at the event, which is presented by the West Manheim Township Lions Club and the Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Company.

Live acoustic music

Enjoy live music from singer/guitarist Brock Crawford from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the Green Horizon Grill in Abbottstown. The event is held rain or shine.
