4 things to do around Lebanon this weekend

An “American Idol” favorite comes to Lancaster, a worship conference, “Music in the park” continues and a cookout to start the weekend. Here’s four things to do this weekend as well as other events coming up around Lebanon.

  • A former “American Idol” contestant and current country singer/songwriter is coming to American Music Theatre. Kellie Pickler, who currently stars in her own reality show on CMT “I Love Kellie Pickler,” and winner of the 16th season of “Dancing With the Stars,” will be in Lancaster Friday for a 7:30 p.m. show. Pickler will feature some of her top hits, including “Red High Heels,” “I Wonder,” “The Things That Never Cross a Man’s Mind” and others. All tickets are $45. For tickets and more information, visit https://amtshows.com/kellie-pickler/.
  • Joyce Meyer Ministries is coming for a weekend conference in chocolate town. The conference starts tonight at 7 p.m. at Giant Center, followed by 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. sessions Saturday, and 10 a.m. Sunday. Each unique session will include a powerful message from Joyce, as well as worship with Phil Wickham. Admission is free, and no registration is required. Seating, however, is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open two hours before each session. Interpretation for the deaf will be provided, and a Spanish translation is also available. Those sections will be reserved until 30 minutes before the start of each session.
  • “Music in the Park” continues Sunday night at Coleman Park’s Veteran’s Memorial Amphitheatre. This week features the “Jim Brady Trio,” a former member of the Booth Brothers, joining with wife Melissa, and Tim Parton. The concert begins at 7 p.m. Be sure to bring a lawn chair. There will be a free will offering. Coleman Park is located at 1400 W. Maple St. on the north side of Lebanon. For more information, visit www.musicinthepark.net.
  • Kick off the weekend with the Womelsdorf Volunteer Fireman Cookout. It’s Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Engine House, located at 501 W. High St. Either eat in or take out. Proceeds benefit the equipment fund. For more information, call 610-589-4645.
