Local chef Andrew Barnes to compete in breakfast battle competition

Does anything sound better a breakfast competition?

Maybe not, but here's one more reason to get excited. Local chef Andrew Barnes, of The Busy Bee, will be one of the 135 competitors in the "Hometown Breakfast Battle," according to a release.

This food competition will peg these competitors against each other to create "America's best breakfast" in honor of the 135th anniversary of the Thomas' brand (think English muffins).

Competitors will get creative with Thomas' English muffins in their quest for the crown. Starting on Sept. 14, fans can vote online to get their favorite chef to the top 16 at ThomasBreakfastBattle.com.

Chef Douglas Krick Jr. of the Dodge City Steakhouse in Harrisburg and Chef Drew James of 551 West in Lancaster will also be competing.
