FlipSidePA Panel event picks for this weekend

Each week, some York County locals share what they are doing this weekend. Some favor art, theater, craft beer, wine or music. Some simply like finding something different to do each week. Whatever your interest, see what they're up to this week in October - it might help you plan your Friday or Saturday night.

Lyn Bergdoll (usually at the theater): This weekend, I'm visiting a fascinating art exhibit featuring contemporary artists, held at the York College Galleries. Entitled Perspectives on Peace, it focuses on peaceful resolutions rather than violence.

Satoko Berg (mom and craft lady): My mom is coming from Japan and my boys and I are going to show her the alpacas at Painted Spring Farm. I think she is going to love their little store filled with beautiful yarns, too!

John Bobby (Phillies fan in baseball season): Although I'm an Eagles fan, on Sunday, I'll be going to Baltimore for the Browns/Ravens game. Half the fun is the pregame tailgating at the Ravens Walk.

Carol Oldenburg and Kara Gonzales (mom and daughter, both artists): We are heading to the Bucks County area to see the Mercer Museum and Fonthill Castle and Moravian Pottery & Tile Works Museum. If we can squeeze in New Hope and Lambertville along with visiting dear friends that would be even better!

Todd Fogdall (new to York): My son and I will join builders worldwide at the York Community Cardboard Challenge, Saturday at York Academy. Cardboard+Scissors+Glue+Art Supplies = Big Fun!

Mike and Sue Edmonds (will travel for fun): We plan to attend the Harmonic Brass concert at First Presbyterian Church this Friday night. It's hard to beat this winning combination: a free concert by Germany's most popular brass quintet inside one of York's most beautiful and historic churches.

Also happening this weekend:Yorktoberfest beer and wine festival.
