Movies to see this weekend in York and Hanover


Just one new movie is coming to York, Hanover and Gettysburg theaters for the New Year’s weekend:

THE HATEFUL EIGHT

A bounty hunter (Kurt Russell) and his dangerous prisoner (Jennifer Jason Leigh) encounter a blizzard en route to her sentencing in Wyoming, waiting out the storm in a cabin with six other nefarious characters. Also starring Samuel L. Jackson, Walton Goggins, Tim Roth, Demian Bichir, Michael Madsen and Bruce Dern, Quentin Tarantino’s bloody suspense is set in the aftermath of the Civil War.

Opens Wednesday. Rated R. Showing at Regal 13, Queensgate 13, R/C Hanover, Gettysburg 10.

PADDINGTON

The Majestic Theater in Gettysburg will hold a free holiday movie event featuring the family-friendly "Paddington" at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 31. Based on the beloved novels by Michael bond, this is the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear who travels to London in search of a home. Hugh Bonneville and Sally Hawkins star with Ben Whishaw voicing the title character.
