Jump into February with a chance to raise money for the Special Olympics by taking the Polar Plunge in Wrightsville on Feb. 6. Catch some autographs and meet some sports heroes during Sports Night on Feb. 11, or celebrate the best of winter during the Lititz Fire and Ice Festival Feb. 12 through 14. Enjoy some unique craft beer as Hibrewnation returns to the York Expo Center on Feb. 20, while York City Restaurant Week offers a chance to enjoy some great meals and specials Feb. 20 through 27. Wrap up the month with a look toward spring Feb. 26 through 28 during the Pennsylvania Garden Expo at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg.

Feb. 6: Special Olympics Polar Plunge

Dip your toe (or more) into the Susquehanna River at noon Feb. 6 to raise money for Special Olympics York County. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at the John Wright building, 124 N. Front St. in Wrightsville. Too chicken to plunge? Support Special Olympics with pledges from family and friends, earn a chicken hat and do the chicken dance. Feb. 11: Annual York Area Sports Night

Those young and old will have an opportunity to meet some sports heroes from 7 to 8 p.m. Feb. 11 at Heritage Hills Golf and Conference Center, 2700 Mount Rose Ave., York Township. Sports Night provides an opportunity to shake a hand, get an autograph, snap a photo and enjoy a live program filled with interviews, awards and demonstrations. Feb. 12: Fire and Ice Festival

Enjoy a variety of family friendly events during a Block Party from 5 to 9 p.m. Feb. 12, a Chili-Cookoff and Winter Wonderland Carnival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 13 and a Dodgeball Tournament from 1 to 5 p.m. Feb. 14 during the Fire and Ice Festival in Downtown Lititz. Feb. 13: York Symphony Orchestra: Beethoven in Buenos Aires

Beethoven’s heartfelt ode to a day in the country collides with the passionate sounds of the Tango in this special performance at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center, 50 N. George St. in York. The evening concludes with Beethoven’s “Pastorale” that will take the audience on a wistful journey through the European countryside. Tickets are $9, $33, $39, or $5 for students. Feb. 20: Hibrewnation

Enjoy samples of more than 90 hand selected regional and international brews from 2 to 5 p.m. Feb. 20 at the York Expo Center, 334 Carlisle Ave., West Manchester Township. This uncompromising exploration of beer includes rare and hard to find selections. Tickets are $40 for general admission and $20 for designated drivers. Limited tickets are available. Feb. 20-27: York Restaurant Week

Visit a restaurant you've always wanted to try or return to the neighborhood spot you've loved for years Feb. 20 to 27 during Restaurant Week, a celebration of great establishments and talented chefs. Feb. 26-28: Pennsylvania Garden Expo

Walk through professionally-landscaped gardens, shop the streets of Market Faire, or learn something new at a DIY station from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 26 and 27 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 28 during the PA Garden Expo at the Farm Show Complex, 2300 N.
