Encore to celebrate York high school musicals
“Encore,” an annual celebration of York County’s high school musicals, is back to recognize students’ talent and accomplishments in their school productions.
More than 500 student actors, dancers, musicians and backstage workers will perform musical selections from this year’s shows at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 24 at Central York High School, according to a news release.
A musical finale will feature representatives from each school.
Awards will be presented in the following categories:
- Outstanding Female Performer
- Outstanding Male Performer
- Most Creative or Original Performance
- Best Production Number
- Best Small Ensemble Performance
- Best Dance Performance
- Judges’ Award for Excellence
- Best Overall Performance
Scholarship awards will also be presented at the event.
