Dance the night away at York cabaret benefit


A Parisian-themed fundraiser will transform the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of York for “An Evening at the Moulin Rouge."

The benefit will feature cabaret entertainment and a DJ dance party from 5 p.m. to midnight June 4.

The grounds and buildings of the congregation, at 925 S. George St., York, will be become the St. Germain, Canal Saint-Martin, Montparnasse and Montmarte areas of Paris for the event.

Local performing artists DJ Cashmire and Mu Zik of Smart Sound, Playboi DJz, Randy “CSmoke” Williams, and Madam of Ceremonies Jada Sparxxx will appear on stage.

The Parisian atmosphere will include plein air painters, pop-up entertainment and an Earth Loom. Food and a cash bar will be available and a silent auction will be held. Red and black attire is encouraged.

Tickets are $45 for general admission, $75 for VIPs, who also receive reserved seating and admission to Satine’s Indian-style lounge with pianist. Purchase tickets at www.unitedweparty.org.

The event will benefit the programs of Centro Hispano, formerly called the Spanish American Center, and Equality Fest, a celebration of arts, culture and inclusion to be held Aug. 7 in downtown York.
