Prepare for Zombie Apocalypse in York Haven

Get prepared for the end of the world as the Zombie Apocalypse Live comes to York Haven.

The tactical, live-action game will be hosted May 20-22 by Halloween Park, conveniently located about a half-mile from Strinestown Cemetery.

Gamers who have honed their skills from the couch with such fare as Dead Rising, Left 4 Dead 2 and Resident Evil, can actually get into the action in this laser tag style competition. Or take out your frustration for your disappointment over the “The Walking Dead” season six finale.

Participants will use infrared military training replicas to clear infested areas where the undead have invaded. The weapons are constructed like M4 rifles for ultimate realism and will have an illuminated barrel to simulate a flash.

The zombies will wear cutting-edge head shot targets that will flash to indicate a hit, although some zombies may require more than one hit for a take-down. The zombies will be portrayed by approximately four dozen local actors armed with nothing but their desire to eat your flesh.

End-of-the-world clothing and gear is encouraged. Come alone or bring a team of up to six.

Tickets go on sale April 29 and are expected to sell out quickly. For ticket info, visit zombieapocalypselive.com.

Hours are 7 p.m.-12 a.m. May 20; 6-11 p.m. May 21 and 22. The event is not recommended for youth under age 12.

Halloween Park is at 100 Hykes Mill Road, York Haven.
