Want to sing in a car commercial? Here's your shot

Red Lion Chevrolet General Manager Wes McCullar wants to break up the normal route for car commercials: instead of having radio personalities sing their best rendition of the words "pre-owned vehicles," McCullar wants to give the community a chance.

"We have had a lot of positive comments and a few raised eyebrows about singing the words 'pre-owned vehicles' in our commercials. With this level of attention, we want to have the community involved. If you sing, yodel, rap or can otherwise perform the words 'pre-owned vehicles', we want to hear from you," said McCullar.

At 11 a.m. Aug. 29, up to 100 singers will be given the opportunity to audition to be Red Lion Chevy's next radio singer and can win up to $400 in prizes. Everyone who auditions will receive an event tee-shirt.

Pre-registration is required, which you can do at http://bit.ly/singYORK.

Everyone is welcome to support the singers. Red Lion Chevy will offer free hot dogs, and Brown's Orchard's is giving away free apples. A local radio station will be on site from 10 a.m. to noon.

Red Lion Chevrolet is located at 3220 Cape Horn Road, Windsor Township.
