3 things to do in and around Franklin County this weekend

Hagerstown Water Slide

It's wet, wild and wonderful and it's in the middle of downtown Hagerstown! This 825-foot water slide will take its guests down along West Washington street, from Walnut and Prospect street to University Plaza. This is a great way to cool off in the hot summer heat, and the kids will love it, too. The ride officially opens at 11 a.m. on Aug. 29. For more information, click here.

Storytelling Festival

Residents of the Chambersburg area will get a taste of unique storytelling when three storytellers visit Chambers Fort Park this weekend. Bring the family and come listen to singing historian Roy Justice, Circle of Excellence Award winner David Novak and local storyteller, Cynthia Keller, who spent 34 years working in the library department of the Chambersburg Area School District. The festival starts at 10 a.m. on Aug. 29 and admission is free.

Jazz Festival

This weekend, jazz lovers can relax on the lawn - make sure to take your own chairs - in the shade behind Renfrew Museum House while listening to some amazing music. The musicians include legendary tenor saxophonist Steve Grossman headlining the festival, along with singer JD Walter, guitarist Paul Bollenback, bassist Duylinh Nguyen and drummer Steve Johns. The event starts at 2 p.m. on Aug. 30. For more information, click here.
