If you've been to a fall festival at Naylor Wine Cellars in the last few years, you either remember 12 hours of nonstop music or wine tastings and vineyard tours.

This year, for the first time, you can have both.

The folks behind MyRuralRadio.com's annual music festival and Naylor Wine Cellar's annual harvest festival have joined forces this year to produce one event that has it all.

The first Fall Harvest and Music Festival will feature music from 16 regional touring musicians, as well as pumpkin decorating, fire engine displays, vineyard tours, wine tastings, a vendor village and even fireworks on Oct. 3.

"There's something there everyone will enjoy," MyRuralRadio.com co-founder Mike Males said. My Rural Radio is a Stewartstown-based radio station that broadcasts touring original songwriters worldwide.

Males said it's the perfect time to merge the two festivals because the date coincides with the 40th anniversary of Naylor's grapevine planting.

The music portion of the festival will celebrate the work of unsigned artists, Males said.

The lineup features several local favorites, such as The Plums, a rock and roll band with York roots, and 17-year-old indie singer-songwriter Kayla Kroh. Locals might remember Kroh from her recent performance at the York Fair this year. But bands will also travel from as far as Boston and Maine for the festival.

The audience can expect to hear everything from '50s style tunes to country to rock and roll to alternative punk to folk, Males said. And the majority of songs will be original.

"People can dance, people can listen," Males said. "When one stage is playing the second stage will start. It will be nonstop music."

Another top attraction at the festival will be the fireworks, Males said. The show is scheduled to start around 7 p.m.

For children, the festival will offer hayrides, a petting zoo, free pumpkin giveaways, face painting and a children's costume contest.

Guests can also participate in a grape stomp, where they'll crush Naylor grapes in oak barrels using only their bare feet. Several contests will be held throughout the day, Naylor administrative assistant Rebecca Bray said. Those who can produce the most grape juice in a given amount of time will win a prize.

"There will be something for everyone," Males said. "It's a family-friendly environment with some of the best music the nation has to offer."
