Halloween: Where to celebrate in downtown York


Looking for a place to celebrate Halloween tonight? Here's what's going on at downtown York bars:

Mudhook Brewing Co. (34 N. Cherry Lane)

Mudhook is hosting a pirate-themed Halloween party with live music from the J.C. Fisher Band from 8 to 10 p.m.  Guests are encouraged to dress up, but pirate costumes are not required. Mudhook will also offer a one-night Broken Glass Cupcake (red velvet cupcake with edible broken glass sticking out of it) special for $6.99.

Granfalloons Tavern (41 E. Princess St.)

Have a great costume? Enter Granfalloon’s costume contest at 11 p.m. tonight. The winner will receive a $100 prize.

Cobblestone’s (205 S. George St.)

The Night of Horror Halloween Bash comes to Cobblestone’s tonight with two floors of dancing, music by DJ Qmixx and DJ EZV and a costume contest. A $200 prize will be awarded for best couple costume, and $100 will be awarded for best single costume. Doors open at 9 p.m., and the cost is $10 with a costume or $15 without.

Otto’s Cocktails (19 N. George St.)

Try Otto’s special Halloween cocktail, the Sheet Ghost. It’s a pumpkin-fused tequila cocktail for $10.

BrewVino (251 N. George St.)

BrewVino will offer a $3.50 special for pumpkin beer or Oktoberfest beer.

Offcenter Grill (48 E. Market St.)

Halloween is your last chance to try the Offcenter Grill’s special Halloween cocktails and appetizers. The menu includes a Poison Apple Martini and Vampire's Kiss cocktail as well as Deviled Brains, a hard-boiled egg dish; Frankenstein's Cemetery, a spring greens and smoked kielbasa worms dish; and Bloody Eye, a peppermint patty dessert with blood orange sauce. Cocktails are $5 and the Gruesome Three Horror d'oeuvres are three for $10.
