Report: Jim Carrey's girlfriend found dead at home, note found at scene
Jim Carrey's ex-girlfriend, Cathriona White, has died of an apparent suicide, according to reports.
Reuters reports that White, an Irish-born make-up artist who was pictured out with Carrey in the past several months, was found dead in her Los Angeles apartment on Monday night, according to Los Angeles deputy chief coroner Ed Winter.
News outlets have put White's age at 28 or 30.
Winter said a drug overdose was suspected because several pills were found near her body. The death was called into authorities as a suicide but a final determination has yet to be made, Winter said.
On Sept. 24 White tweeted, "Signing off on Twitter, I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest."

In a statement to USA TODAY, Carrey said he was stricken by the news.
"I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona," says Carrey. "She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt."
TMZ says White and Carrey, 53, met in 2012, had an on-and-off romance and rekindled their relationship in May before splitting up last week.
The actor tweeted a picture credited to White on Sept. 16.
