Majestic Theater celebrates its 90th Birthday with 2015-16 season


Gettysburg College's Majestic Theater will celebrate its 90th birthday on Nov. 14.

July 4th Gala Pops Concert at Memorial Field, Gettysburg College July 4 at 8:30 p.m. Celebrate America's 239th birthday with the massed musical forces of the Gettysburg Chamber Orchestra and students from the Sunderman Conservatory under the direction of maestros Russell McCutcheon and Norman Nunamaker with the Majestic's own Jeffrey Gabel as emcee. Free concert with fireworks. Bring your own lawn chairs and picnics.

Imani Winds: Sept.18 at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by The Sunderman Chamber Music Foundation, Majestic Theater and supported by the Adams County Arts Council. $10 Adults. Free with a Gettysburg College ID and children under 18.

Arlo Guthrie's Alice's Restaurant 50th Anniversary Tour: Sept. 29, 7:30 p.m. American folk music royalty, Guthrie carries on his family's legacy that combines inspirational music with timeless stories steeped in social consciousness including Alice's Restaurant. Tickets are $65, $60 and $55.

Rhythmic Circus -- Feet Don't Fail Me Now!: Oct. 24, 8 p.m. Fresh from their first Broadway run, this charismatic collection of dancers, musicians and vocalists are guaranteed to be great fun for the whole family with their trunk full of tap shoes, and funky costumes. Tickets are $45, $38, $32 Sponsored by an anonymous donor.

Duo Amal: Nov. 4, 7:30 p.m. Piano virtuosos Yaron Kohlberg and Bishara Haroni are the preeminent pianists of their generation in their respective homelands: Israel and Palestine. Sponsored by The Sunderman Chamber Music Foundation, The Eisenhower Institute, and Dora Townsend & David Rice. Tickets are $20 for adults. Free with a Gettysburg College ID and children under 18.

Majestic Theater's 90th Birthday Gala -- Neil Berg's 100 Years of Broadway: : Nov. 14, 8 p.m. This once-in-a-lifetime gala features the greatest moments from the finest shows with the actual stars that performed them on Broadway in such long-running hits as "The Phantom of the Opera," "Les Miserables," "CATS," "Jesus Christ Superstar," and "Jekyll & Hyde." A $90 VIP ticket includes premium seating and post-performance champagne dessert reception with the stars. Tickets are $90, $44, $40,

"Christmas Carol": Dec. 9 to 20, Matinees 2 p.m. (Wed. Thurs. Sat. Sun) and evenings at 8 p.m. (Fri. & Sat.) Tickets are $36, $33, $30 student $20.

Band of the Royal Marines Featuring the Pipes & Drums of the Scots Guards: Jan. 14, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $62, $58, $55.

Robert Osborne Presents "Casablanca": Feb. 13, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. Join Robert Osborne, beloved cable TV host of Turner Classic Movies, as he discusses the important role movie theaters have played in the life of small town America with Jeffrey Gabel. Afterwards, Osborne will introduce the classic film, "Casablanca" starring Humphrey Bogart & Ingrid Bergman, on the big screen. All tickets $25.

Imago Theatre's "ZooZoo": March 18, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. ZooZoo celebrates animals, exotic and familiar, tiny and huge. Tickets are $29, $26, $23. Cherish the Ladies: April 3, 2016, at 3 p.m. They've grown from a one-time concert concept to an Irish traditional music sensation, literally the most successful and sought-after Irish-American group in Celtic music. Tickets are $36, $33, $27.

Kathleen Madigan: May 20, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. In her 25-year career, Kathleen Madigan has had her own specials on HBO and Comedy Central and won the American Comedy Award for "Best Female Comedian." Tickets are $47, $39, $34.
