Harrisburg Beer Week: Uber code, discounts and special events
Raise your glass! Harrisburg Beer Week is here and here's what you need to know. Events run from April 22 to April 30. Proceeds benefit The Harrisburg River Rescue and Emergency Services. Below, find a list of signature events and transportation and lodging discounts.
Events you don't want to miss
Friday: VIP Kick Off Party at The Abbey Bar at Appalachian Brewing Company Harrisburg features the 2016 717 Collaboration Ale, hors d'oeuvres and live music by JT & The Mild Heat. You'll also have a chance to meet brewers and industry professionals here. The party is from 5 to 10 p.m. at 50 N. Cameron St., Harrisburg. Tickets cost $50 and can be purchased here.
Saturday: Run for your beer! New this year is the Maybe 5K starting at Zeroday Brewing Company, 250 Reily St., Harrisburg. Step off the line at 10 a.m. and see how many square city blocks you can run in an hour. Registration is closed now, but runners would probably appreciate cheering supporters.
Sunday: Don't miss the week's official homebrew competition from 2 to 5 p.m. at FNB Field, 245 Championship Way, Harrisburg. Sample beers, get a signature glass and grab a bite to eat from The Chicken Truck and Mad Dash Concessions. Tickets are $32.64 and can be purchased here.
Wednesday, April 27: Vote for your favorite beer to be named Bent Propeller IPA at the Harrisburg River Rescue and Emergency Services Homebrew Competition. Enjoy barbecue, music and of course beer here. Festivities go from 5 to 8 p.m. at 725 S. 22nd St., Harrisburg. Free admission. Food is a la carte. Get more information here.
Saturday, April 30: End the week with a Little Big Beer Fest back at The Abbey Bar at Appalachian Brewing Company Harrisburg. Drink beer from more than 20 craft breweries, hop in a photo booth and pick up some #HBGBeerWeek merch from 2 to 5 p.m. Tickets are $32.64 and can be purchased here.
