A food lover's guide to the York Fair

With the York Fair fast approaching on Sept. 9., foodies across the county are preparing to take in the variety smells and tastes the fair can bring.

The York Fair has a bit of something for everyone with 90 vendors serving the classic fair items like funnel cake and french fries, or more outlandish options like fried oreos and deep-fried alligator.

Here's a list of vendors and what they serve so you can properly plan how to eat your way through the fair:


Athens Grill

  • Gyros, Greek salads, spinach pies, pork doner, chicken

Bob & Min’s on Cattle Drive

Bricker’s Fries (6 stands)

Captain Crab

  • Seafood, soft shell crab, steam and fried shrimp, crab cakes, crab soup and fish sandwiches

Chester’s Gators and Taters

  • Deep fried gator nuggets, bacon dogzilla corn dogs, ribbon fries, gator mac and cheese bowls, barbecue gator sliders and kabobs including gator, shark, chicken and shrimp

Chick n Cone

  • Tempura battered popcorn chicken tossed in signature sauces and served in a waffle cone

Danny’s Fine Foods (3 stands)

  • Stand 1: Root beer, root beer floats, soda floats
  • Stand 2: Sausage, cheesesteaks, chicken cheesesteaks, hot dogs, corn dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, perogies, chicken tenders, french fries and drinks
