A two-weekend event in November will give you a chance to explore and sample many of southcentral Pennsylvania's best wineries.

Wine Just Off The Vine, presented by the Mason-Dixon Wine Trail, allows wine aficionados from across the region to experience up to 17 of their favorite local wineries across the region.

During the event, participating wineries will provide exclusive tastings, wine and food pairings and education on the winery. Participants will be able to make their own schedules and visiting as many wineries as they wish throughout both weekends.

“It’s a relaxing escape and a chance to learn about the intricacies of taking a grape from vine to glass directly from the creative winemakers along the Mason-Dixon Wine Trail,” Louise Heine, destination marketing director for the York County Convention & Visitors Bureau said.

The event, in its eighth year, will add four new wineries to the tour — Maple Lawn Winery in York County, CrossWinds Winery at Hershey and Spring Gate Vineyard and Brewery in Dauphin County and Galloping Goose Vineyards in Carroll County Maryland.

Wine Just Off The Vine is a chance for participants to take a look at some wineries that don’t offer regular tours, like Logan’s View Winery in Glen Rock.

“This is a special time for people to come in and see how we operate,” Steve Bahn, winemaker at Logan’s View said. “It’s a special thing for us.”

Standard admission for the event is $20 and includes a souvenir wine glass, wine tastings, light food items and a 10 percent discount on wine purchases.

The York County Convention & Visitors Bureau, which manages the Mason-Dixon Wine Trail, encourages drinking responsibility at the event. Designated drivers receive free admission and anyone under 21 is required to have a wristband.
